Principal's Message

 

What an exciting year we have had so far! As we look to finish our 2018-19 school year successfully, let’s celebrate what we have accomplished so far since we first started school on August 1st, 2018:

* Implementation of a progressive Positive Behavior Intervention and Support school-wide discipline model for 100% of our students
* Created a formal Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) complete with officers, roles, a schedule of monthly meetings, and a bank account
* The hiring of our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Lourae Henry
* The integration of a new role, a Response to Intervention for Behavior (RtI-B) Coordinator
* Provided over 200 positive phone calls to homes of student’s who consistently meet expectations
* Trained over a half dozen faculty and staff members in RtI-B best practices with Vanderbilt University
* Experienced a successful football season which resulted in one of the most dominant seasons we have experienced in several years
* Implemented a Professional Learning Community (PLC) plan centered around monthly Common Formative Assessments (CFAs) geared to measuring our school-wide focus of literacy
* Hosted a successful volleyball tournament in which for our district
* Issued and deployed laptop/devices to over 250 5th and 6th grade students as a part of our 1:1 DIPLOMA initiative
* Won a Robotics tournament in November
* Celebrated a much-improved Lady Tigers basketball team which included a runner-up finish in the district tournament
* Cheered on a VERY successful boys basketball season in which we earned a county championship and have proven to be the clear BEST team in our greater Maury County area
* Hosted the first-ever VEX Robotics tournament in December
* Championed a Cheerleading team which qualified for Disney and represented us at a greater Southeastern United States tournament as a place-winner
* Celebrated a half dozen art contest winners representing a variety of different contests
* Increased our overall attendance rate while also decreasing our chronic absentee rate as compared to the 2017-18 school year
* Hosted over 2,000 attendees at multiple performances in the area of Band, Choir, Dance, and Theatre.

What will the rest of 2018-19 hold for us? Let’s figure it out together. Let’s finish our school year strong and build off what we have started!!!
